Easiest way to create a very simple XF 2 addon? Can I edit an existing addon template, or do I have to create it using a developer environment?

I've seen a few guides that all have different directions, possibly because some of them are for older versions of Xenforo.

I don't want to learn php, javascript, etc. I want to know the simplest way I can implement a few db and file changes to increase the length of titles:
